Super Tool

1994-2001

The first “Heavy Duty” tool released by Leatherman Tool Group.

The Super Tool was also the first to feature Locking tools, a tool locked automatically when opened.

To unlock a tool another implement would have to be partially opened to disengage the locking mechanism.

A problem occurs if all the tools in a handle are opened at once, leaving none for unlocking.

In such a case a screwdriver or other such device must be used to pry the lock open.
